4 Steps to Convert PES Letters to Typeable BX Font
1. Organize Alphabet PES Files
Ensure all letters are named with single characters (e.g., A.pes, B.pes, 01.pes) in a clean directory.
2. Load into Embrilliance AlphaTricks
Open Embrilliance (or AlphaTricks module) and navigate to Utility > Import Font (or drag .pes set onto the canvas).
3. Align Baselines & Kerning
Use our inspection table below to verify baseline coordinates and letter widths for seamless font typing.
4. Save as Typeable .BX File
Click 'Save BX' to compile the encrypted container. Drag the resulting .BX onto Embrilliance to install it as a keyboard font!
What is a .BX File & Why Can't It Be Blindly Converted?
Unlike standard stitch files (PES, DST, JEF) which store simple XY needle penetrations, a .BX file is a proprietary Embrilliance archive containing 26 to 90+ individual designs linked to computer keyboard keycodes (ASCII), font sizing algorithms, kerning pairs, and baseline metrics. ConvertStitch extracts and verifies the stitch glyphs so you can package them without manual alignment headaches.
