ConvertStitch is built with a client-side execution model. When you upload or convert an embroidery file (.PES, .JEF, .DST, .EXP, .VP3, etc.), the file is parsed and re-encoded locally inside your web browser's memory. Your designs are NEVER uploaded to our servers, never stored in databases, and never inspected by third parties.
1. Zero-Egress File Processing
Unlike traditional file conversion utilities that upload files to cloud worker queues, ConvertStitch uses in-browser Web APIs (FileReader, TypedArray, and ArrayBuffer). The entire conversion pipeline operates client-side within the sandbox of your device. Consequently:
- We do not collect, view, or retain your digitized embroidery patterns.
- We do not retain copyright or intellectual property rights over any file processed.
- You can verify zero-network egress using your browser's developer network inspector.
2. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising Disclosures
To keep ConvertStitch completely free for embroidery enthusiasts and businesses, we may display advertising served by Google AdSense and other trusted advertising networks. In compliance with Google's Publisher Policies:
- Third-Party Vendors: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to ConvertStitch or other websites on the internet.
- Advertising Cookies: Google's use of advertising cookies (such as DoubleClick or interest-based cookies) enables it and its partners to serve personalized ads to users based on their visits to our site and/or other sites across the World Wide Web.
- Opt-Out: Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings (https://www.google.com/settings/ads) or www.aboutads.info. Google Ads Settings.
3. Local Web Storage & Analytics
ConvertStitch uses your browser's localStorage strictly to store your interface preferences, such as:
- Your chosen visual theme preference (Light mode or Dark mode).
- Your preferred target export embroidery format.
- Selected user interface language.
These preferences remain stored exclusively on your device and are never sent to external tracking servers.
4. European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you possess specific data protection rights under GDPR Articles 13–22:
- Right to Access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
- Right to Rectification: You have the right to request correction of inaccurate information.
- Right to Erasure: You have the right to request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to Object & Restrict: You have the right to object to or restrict processing of your data.

5. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA)
Under the CCPA, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, disclosed, or sold. ConvertStitch does not sell, rent, or trade user personal information or uploaded design files.
